Video Allegedly Shows Toronto Mayor Rob Ford Smoking Crack

It has been reported by numerous media outlets that a video showing a prominent Canadian public official smoking crack cocaine is being shopped around by a group of men. In the video, Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is allegedly sitting in a chair and smoking out of what appears to be a glass crack pipe. The story was reported by The Toronto Star, online news site Gawker and other outlets.

The Star said two of its reporters watched the video three times. The paper said it did not pay money to watch the video, nor did it obtain a copy of the clip. According to the Star, the men selling the tape wanted “six figures” for it.

On the tape, Ford, 43, allegedly makes several disparaging and crude remarks about Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau and the high school football team he coaches. It has been reported that Ford also talks about himself, Fox News said.

"I’m f---ing right-wing,” Ford appears to mutter at one point. “Everyone expects me to be right-wing. I’m just supposed to be this great … ”

Ford’s lawyer, Dennis Morris, told the Star that some of the details that Gawker chose to publish were "false and defamatory." He said a video can’t accurately show what a person is actually doing. “How can you indicate what the person is actually doing or smoking?” Morris questioned.

Ford’s chief of staff, Mark Towhey, declined to comment on the matter.
