A Trump supporter recently told the Republican front-runner in Iowa how happy she would be if Trump's wife Melania were the First Lady (video below).
"We can't wait until Melania brings class back into the First Lady," the supporter told the billionaire during a rally, notes CrooksAndLiars.com. "We can't wait. And my question, I hear you talk about, she's beautiful, and we can't wait to see class."
The voter then complained about the lack of new oil refineries in the U.S., and asked Trump if he would approve the Keystone XL Pipeline, which would be owned by TransCanada.
Trump said he would approve the pipeline because "it's thousands of jobs."
Forbes reported in March that Canada wants the Keystone XL Pipeline built through the middle of the United States in order to get Canadian crude oil to existing oil refineries on the Gulf Coast. After being refined, Canada's oil would be exported overseas for Canadian profit.
Forbes added that there are a lack of new oil refineries built in the U.S. because of the cost, which is billions.
The New York Times noted in 2005 that refining crude oil into gasoline has "dismal profit margins" compared to oil exploration, which is why we don't see new refineries built in the U.S.
As far as the thousands of jobs that Trump mentioned, MediaMatters.org reported earlier this year that a U.S. State Department study found that the Keystone Pipeline XL would create 3,900 temporary construction jobs if the project took one year, or 1,950 temp jobs if the pipeline took two years.
