Donald Trump can be described as many things, but he feels social media guru and literary mastermind should be added to that list.
Though he refused to answer questions about his proposals to require Muslims to register in a database, he told reporters at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, that he’s a Twitter pro.
“I understand social media," he said, according to Politico. "Maybe better than anybody, ever."
"Somebody said I’m the Ernest Hemingway of 140 characters," he added.
Though it’s unclear if Hemingway, like Trump, would post angry tweets with words in all capital letters to emphasize his point, Trump said the platform allows him to reach a wide audience. Trump has just under 5 million followers and said it’s like “owning the New York Times without the losses.”
Trump also bragged that he wasn't hesitant to drag people he dislikes throughout the mud. Imitating a typewriter, he said “bing bing bing — I say something really bad about them.”
In fact, in the last 24 hours, Trump has targeted Ohio’s Republican governor and presidential candidate John Kasich, Fox News contributor Mary Katherine Ham, New York City mayor Bill deBlasio and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton on his Twitter account.
