'Prediction Professor' Says Trump Will Be Impeached (Photo)

A political historian dubbed the "Prediction Professor" says he believes President-elect Donald Trump will be impeached.

Allan Lichtman, a professor at the American University in Washington, has predicted every presidential election since 1984, including the most recent election of Trump, CNN reported.

But despite predicting Trump's victory, Lichtman also sees trouble down the road for the president-elect.

"There's a very good chance that Donald Trump could face impeachment," Lichtman told Erin Burnett on her "Erin Burnett OutFront" show.

Lichtman said he uses his own system of 13 true or false statements to determine who will control the White House. But when it comes to his Trump impeachment prediction, Lichtman said he is going off of his instincts.

"First of all, throughout his life he has played fast and loose with the law," Lichtman explained. "He has run an illegal charity in New York state."

"He has made an illegal campaign contribution through that charity," Lichtman continued. "He has used the charity to settle personal business debts. He faces a RICO lawsuit."

Burnett intervened to note that Lichtman's allegations have not been proven in a court of law. She also asked how he thought Trump could be impeached with Republicans holding both the Senate and the House.

"The Republicans are nervous about Donald Trump," Lichtman responded. "He is a loose canon. Nobody knows what he really believes or really where he stands. He can't be controlled.

"The Republicans would vastly prefer to have Mike Pence, an absolutely predictable down-the-pipe conservative Republican."

Despite Lichtman's record of successfully predicting election outcomes, most social media users remained skeptical.

"Jeez he hasn't even been swore in yet!" wrote one Twitter user. "He won because he worked harder than the rest and not due to predictions."

"All good reasons but from what we've seen the Republicans are very weak ppl," wrote another user. "They would never stand up to Donald."
