Texas State Rep. Bill Zedler Suggests Texas State Sen. Wendy Davis is a 'Terrorist'

Texas State Sen. Wendy Davis (D) staged a ten-hour filibuster, which was supposed to be 13 hours, but was cut short by Republicans who claimed she had violated filibuster rules by mentioning Planned Parenthood and ultrasound procedures.

Nevertheless, Democrats were still able to filibuster the vote, along with some help from vocal protesters in the Texas State Capitol (video below).

At midnight, the special session ended and SB 5, a bill that would have banned all abortions (no exceptions for rape or incest), was not passed.

In response, State Rep. Bill Zedler (R) appeared to be calling Davis a "terrorist" on Twitter: "We had a terrorist in the Texas State Senate opposing SB 5."

Rep. Zedler's history includes authoring a failed "birther bill" (H.B. 650), which would have required presidential and vice presidential candidates to show their birth certificates to Texas officials.

Lt. Gov David Dewhurst (R) called the citizens who cheered Davis “an unruly mob, using Occupy Wall Street tactics, disrupted the Senate from protecting unborn babies,” reported

However, some Democrats are calling for Davis to run for governor.

Texas Democratic Chairman Gilberto Hinojos told “She does what she believes is right. We’ve been sorely lacking that kind of leadership in the state of Texas for more than 20 years. So, yeah. I’m hoping she runs for statewide office, and I know that should she decide to, all of these women and men that are here today, young and old, will work their hearts out for her. She’d probably get elected governor, or whatever other office she wants to run for.”
