NRA board member and rocker Ted Nugent once said that he would be “dead or in jail” if President Barack Obama was re-elected.
According to Politico.com, Nugent has been invited to attend President Obama's State of the Union address on Tuesday by Rep. Steve Stockman (R-TX).
“I am excited to have a patriot like Ted Nugent joining me in the House Chamber to hear from President Obama,” Rep. Stockman said. “After the Address I’m sure Ted will have plenty to say.”
Earlier this year, Rep. Stockman threatened to initiate impeachment proceedings if President Obama used executive actions to limit guns.
For his part, Nugent has suggested that he would be willing to start a new American Revolution if the Obama administration attempted to “re-implement the tyranny of King George."
Nugent has also called President Obama a “piece of sh*t” who should “suck on my machine gun.” Last year, the Secret Service even interviewed Nugent and determined he wasn’t a threat to the president.
Most recently, Nugent wrote a racially-tinged article for the conspiracy website WND.com, about the supposed hypocrisy of Rev. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton over President Obama's drone program. Nugent claims both men would picket the same defense program if there was a Republican president in office.
Jesse Jackson and Al Not-So-Sharpton would be lisping their ebonic mumbo-jumbo that the policy and the president are racist and bigoted. They would organize protest marches in front of the White House, where they would burn effigies of the president.
Nugent told The New York Times that he would refrain from bringing a firearm to the president’s speech, which is not allowed.
