Sunday Talkshow Roundup: GOP Labels Sebelius 'Laughingstock of America'

Republican focus on Sunday talk shows this weekend wasn't simply the shortcomings of the Obamacare website, but specifically the failure of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius during the rollout of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

"She's lost considerable credibility. She's the laughingstock of America,” Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., told ABC's "This Week,” after “Saturday Night Live” poked fun at Sebelius this weekend.

"The president has been poorly served in the implementation of his own signature legislation," the Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., told CBS’s "Face the Nation” on Sunday. "If Kathleen Sebelius can’t reorganize to meet his agenda, then she shouldn’t be there."

"Why didn’t she know that the president’s signature legislation was in trouble?" he added.

Sebelius is set to testify on the healthcare rollout Wednesday before the House Committee On Energy And Commerce.

Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), a leader on the panel, said "the incompetence in building this website is staggering," and Sebelius will testify before she's "out the door."

"Fixing the website is the easy part,” said Louisiana Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal on "Fox News Sunday."

“This is symptomatic of a bigger problem ... Is this administration the most incompetent or most liberal in recent history? Maybe they’ll bring in Al Gore, the guy who says he invented the Internet,” Jindal quipped.

Sen. Ted Cruz called for her resignation last week.

"Absolutely, she should resign. Why? Because the program she has implemented, ObamaCare, is a disaster,” Cruz told CNN. “It’s not working, it’s hurting people all across the country."

President Barack Obama announced Friday that repairs to will be finished by Nov. 30.

The Hill reported that Obama wasn't interested in rehashing the web glitches again this morning. "C'mon guys. I'm going to church," he said.
