'Stand Up' to Obama Like Putin Did, Says South Carolina GOP Lawmaker (Audio)

GOP South Carolina State Sen. Lee Bright says he wants Republicans to "stand up" against President Barack Obama as Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad and Russian President Vladimir Putin did.

Bright is running for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Sen. Lindsey Graham, also a Republican.

According to The State, Bright slammed Graham last year for going to Egypt with U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., to help restore order after the overthrow of President Mohammed Morsi.

"[Graham] has instead chosen to take his time to be a community organizer for the Muslim Brotherhood," said Bright.

While recently slamming Obama on the Family Research Council's radio show "Washington Watch," Bright cited al-Assad and Putin as role models, noted (audio below).

"You look at, of course I hate to use examples, you look at Assad and you look at Putin, when people stand up to Obama, you see that he backs up and his lines in the sand become erased," stated Bright. "If [Speaker of the House John] Boehner had the courage that Putin and Assad had, we’d be living in a different America, but we don’t have the leadership and we’ve got to continue to try to get folks to Washington that are going to take the fight to the liberal agenda."

Bright then complained about the "homosexual agenda on the full march in our institutions of higher ed."

"We’ve gone from education to indoctrination, so we are in a fight, they have seized the educational establishment and we’ve got to take that back and we’ve got to get folks involved in that or otherwise that’s our next generation," said Bright.
