Sen. Bernie Sanders Educates Trump Voters On Trump (Video)

Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and MSNBC host Chris Hayes spoke to supporters of President-elect Donald Trump during a town hall in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Dec. 12 (video below).

One Trump voter insisted that Trump was not going to create a national registry of Muslims, but a Muslim woman replied that Trump has proposed doing that and rolling back President Obama's immigration orders - Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA).

According to Politifact, Trump has promised to eliminate both DACA and DAPA.

Kansas Secretary of State and Trump advisor Kris Kobach told Reuters in November that Trump was considering a Muslim registry, which could be like his (Kobach's) National Security Entry-Exit Registration System during the Bush administration; Kobach's system was abandoned in 2011.

A female Trump voter added that she didn't want to see anyone thrown out of the country because of their beliefs or religion, which she said would be "awful."

Sanders noted that three out of the four Trump voters on the stage voted for someone who basically lied during the campaign.

One Trump voter insisted that Trump was actually creating a dialogue with the American people with his campaign promises, that will not be kept, but was not lying.

However, another Trump voter said that she hoped Trump did keep his promises.

She insisted that undocumented immigrants were preventing her from getting better pay, and that they were fleeing to Mexico when they got tickets:

Who’s paying for this? Who’s paying for the Medicaid? Who’s paying for the Social Security? Who’s paying for the Medicare? Who? We are. Now, have any of you seen down on the streets that it seems as though we have become the silent minority and not the majority?

Hayes asked her several times to explain who "we" are.

"I am assuming that you believe, correct me if I’m wrong, that we should not cut Social Security or Medicare or Medicaid. Is that correct or not?" he then aksed.

She said that she didn't want those programs cut, and Sanders replied:

Do you know who is now working very hard to try to do that? Republicans in Congress have a plan under the guise of saving Medicare and saving Social Security, making devastating cuts. That’s what the Republicans are now trying to do.

The other point that you made is... who is going to pay for this stuff? And that is a very fair point. What all of us should know is that over the last 25 years, there has been a massive transfer of wealth in this country from you to the top one-tenth of one percent.

In other words, the middle class has shrunk and trillions of dollars have gone to the top one-tenth of one percent. Do you think it’s inappropriate to start asking those people to pay their fair share of taxes so we can adequately fund Medicaid and make public colleges and universities tuition-free. Is that an unfair thing to ask?

"I don’t think it’s an unfair thing to ask," the Trump supporter replied. "They got rich off of us, so it’s time they put back."

"Okay, that’s what I’m saying," Sanders added.
