Secret Service Closes Case on Ted Nugent's Obama "Threat"

The Secret Service interviewed Ted Nugent over his comment about President Obama that some said constituted a threat, and the agency considers the matter closed.

At the NRA's convention last weekend, Nugent said, "If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year."

The comment caught the attention of those in charge of the president's security, and two agents interviewed the rocker/gun nut Thursday in Oklahoma, reports The Associated Press.

"The issue has been resolved," agency spokesman Brian Leary said. "The Secret Service does not anticipate any further action."

In a statement on his website about the meeting, Nugent wrote he never meant his comment to be a threat against Obama:

(It was a) good, solid, professional meeting concluding that I have never made any threats of violence towards anyone.

The meeting could not have gone better. I thanked them for their service, we shook hands and went about our business. Godbless the good federal agents wherever they may be.
