Former half-term Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin praised Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's immigration plans on Aug. 18 during an appearance on Fox News (video below).
Fox News host Greta Van Susteren asked Palin if it was actually possible for Trump to force Mexico to pay for a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border as he has promised to do, even though the Mexican government has dismissed the idea.
"Heck yeah it's possible!" Palin replied.
Palin didn't say how Trump could force Mexico to pay for a wall, but claimed it was a "real shot in the arm to constitutionalists and conservatives."
Van Susteren asked Palin how immigrants in the U.S. illegally would be rounded up and deported. Palin didn't say, but tried to blame those in the country illegally, who are mostly Hispanic, for taking jobs away from black and Hispanic men.
Van Susteren also asked Palin about Trump's plan for removing birthright citizenship, as guaranteed in the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, for children of undocumented immigrants born in the U.S., notes Mediaite.com.
"A plank in our platform is pro-family and a family is a unit. And I believe what Mr. Trump and the probably the other Republican candidates, once they do come out with some kind of policy proposals, what they are saying is, 'Family is a unit, and if their parents broke the law and if they’re here illegally, well, they need to get back in line and because family is a unit.' Greta, 'The family sticks together, and the kids have to get in line with their mom and dad.'"
Van Susteren asked Palin if she would endorse Trump, notes RawStory.com.
"I think with Donald Trump, he is the best thing to happen to the permanent political class since I guess the beauty of the tea party genuine movement rose up and shined light on crony capitalism and pulled the rug right out from under status quo politicians who just kind of embrace that permanent political class.
"Donald Trump, he’s got these Joe Six-Pack issues on his mind, and he’s got these Joe Six-Pack common-sense solutions. He just happens to be an extremely successful and charismatic, with a very large platform, Joe Six-Pack."
