Former half-term Alaska Governor Sarah Palin spoke at the Western Conservative Summit at Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, Colorado, on Saturday.
Palin attacked undocumented immigrants coming into the U.S., and the Obama administration for housing the immigrants (mostly children) in various U.S. cities and towns, notes Mediaite.com (video below).
“Notice they [law enforcement officials] are not hauling illegals to those swanky ‘hoods of D.C. or Manhattan or San Francisco,” Palin said. “They’re housed in vacant schools in working class neighborhoods?"
However, San Francisco has welcomed the undocumented immigrant children, notes SFGate.com. The New York City Council recently voted to give undocumented immigrants I.D. cards so that they could access services, Reuters reports.
Palin also attacked President Obama for turning American into an "unfunded charity" by not securing the borders, even though more undocumented immigrants have been deported by Obama than any other president, notes The Nation.
Palin claimed that President Obama, whom she mocked as "the DREAMweaver," had "created the current crisis as illegals are pouring in to collect what he illegally promised them," reports Breitbart.com.
However, President Obama hasn't promised anything to the undocumented immigrant children and families who have been crossing the U.S. border by the thousands since October 2013.
"If Obama won't obey the law and secure the borders, it's not immigration, it's invasion," Palin claimed.
Palin also claimed that terrorists "will be mixed in there" with undocumented child immigrants, and that it was "insane" to expect towns to take care of undocumented immigrant children, but she failed to mention that federal money is paying for their care.
Palin warned that immigrants would be competing with Americans for jobs, a nativist claim that she has used before.
