Is there a GOP catfight brewing between Sarah Palin and Christine O'Donnell? Multiple reports say Palin pressured organizers of a Tea Party rally in Iowa to rescind an invitation for O'Donnell to attend on the threat of Palin canceling.
It was just yesterday that we reported that O'Donnell requested to attend the Saturday rally at which people are speculating that her former mentor will announce whether she will run for president.
But Palin apparently didn't want O'Donnell anywhere near the rally and threatened not to attend.
Consultants acting on Palin’s behalf had threatened to cancel her appearance if Christine O’Donnell, the former Delaware Senate candidate, was also allowed to speak, according to another source involved in the event.
Tea Party of America organizer Charlie Gruschow now tells the website, “O’Donnell will not speak or be present.” And suddenly, “Palin has confirmed,” said Gruschow.
This from NBC News:
Tea Party of America President Ken Crow told NBC News, "I had to cancel Ms. O'Donnell" after a conversation with Sarah Palinaides.
It was Palin's endorsement of O'Donnell that catapulted her to national stardom and to winning the GOP nomination for Senator from Delaware in 2010. She lost in the general election.
Palin's camp has not commented on any of this.
