Republicans Burn Voter Cards To Protest Trump (Photos)

Several Republicans took to social media and burned their voter registration cards in protest of Donald Trump being the presumptive nominee of the GOP.

Lachlan Markay, a conservative blogger, was one of the first people who posted pictures or videos of themselves setting their Republican credentials on fire. And soon, other joined in, using the hashtag #NeverTrump.

Many other people were less flamboyant about their decision to leave the Republican Party and posted pictures of themselves registering as independents or “no party affiliation.”

“Happening now. Bu-bye Republican Party,” tweeted @calling_west, along with a photo of the person registering as an independent.

Although many Republicans are unhappy with Trump as the presumed nominee, many others seem to be fine with having the billionaire mogul represent their party.

Trump is on pace to receive the most voters ever in a modern Republican primary, going back to when the popular Ronald Reagan ran in 1980, with more than 10 million votes already, reported Politico.

In addition, Florida -- a crucial battleground state -- has seen an increase in GOP voter registration with more than 82,000 new Republicans registered since the start of 2016, according to Florida Politics.
