Rep. Michael Burgess Claims Obamacare Web Traffic Was From Congress, Media (Video)

Rep. Michael Burgess, R-Texas, told CNN Friday that the massive traffic which gummed up Obamacare’s HealthCare.gov this week wasn’t the result of six million Americans looking for affordable healthcare.

Burgess claimed the members of congress, their staff, and the media were the real culprits.

CNN’s Fredricka Whitfield asked Burgess if the “affordable healthcare law is a bad thing” then “why are so many people jamming the website?”

“I think if you subtract out members of Congress and their staff and reporters who called in those first 48 hours the numbers will be considerably lower,” Burgess responded. “We will have an opportunity to dissect these numbers in our subcommittee of oversight investigations later this month or next month.”

According to Fox News contributor Sally Kohn, there’s no reason for conservatives to downplay the popularity of Obamacare. They reportedly already know that Americans will love Obamacare, especially come January 1st, when premiums reduce across the board.

Kohn suggests they are fighting to save Americans from themselves.

As Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said, “It's a lot harder to undo something than it is to stop it in the first place.”
