Two weeks ago, Rep. Louie Gohmert told a South Carolina Tea Party group that he wanted to tax the poorest Americans via their government benefits.

Last night, Rep. Gohmert told Fox News host Sean Hannity how President Obama was going to promise "whatever anybody wants" during his State of the Union Address, notes (video below).

Rep. Gohmert informed Hannity that he wore a Santa Claus tie to the State of the Union Address because “we’re going to be listening to Santa Claus tonight promising whatever anybody wants they can have.”

According to The Washington Post, Obama outlined seven specific policy steps during his State of the Union Address:

Boost the minimum wage for federal contract workers to $10.10 per hour.
Create a basic new type of retirement savings account.
Urge chief executives to end the discrimination against the long-term unemployed.
Ratchet up fuel efficiency standards for trucks.
Review federal job-training programs.
Create four new manufacturing hubs.
Set limits on carbon pollution from existing power plants.
