During an appearance at the Tulsa 9:12 Project (a Tea Party gathering) last week, Rep. Jim Bridenstine (R-Okla.) claimed that President Obama was ruling by "decree" and "lawlessness."
According to RightWingWatch.org, moments before Rep. Bridenstine made his bizarre claims, an unidentified woman told him, “Obama, he’s not president. As far as I’m concerned, he should be executed as an enemy combatant” (video below).
Rep. Bridenstine did not mention to the woman that it's a crime to threaten the President of the United States, but remained quiet as she went into a conspiracy theory.
"The Muslims that he is shipping into our country through pilots and commercial jets," claimed the woman. "This guy is a criminal and nobody’s stopped him. With congress doing nothing, that legally allows this moron to make decisions. He has no authority."
In response, Rep. Bridenstine stated, "Everyone knows the lawlessness of this president. He picks and chooses which he laws he is going to enforce or not enforce. He does it by decree."
"When he can't create a law through congress, he then uses the bureaucracies in the executive branch to create rules and regulations by executive order," added Rep. Bridenstine.
"When he can't get that done, he uses foreign bodies," claimed Rep. Bridenstine. "He tries to use the United Nations to change the laws in the United States."
However, Rep. Bridenstine gave no examples to back up his false claims of Obama ruling by "decree," "lawlessness" or using the "United Nations" to change US laws.
In fact, under U.S. law, President Obama is allowed to write executive orders, but has written fewer than any president in the past 100 years, noted TalkingPointMemos.com.
The Washington Postreported last year that the Obama administration can legally delay some parts of Obamacare, according to legal experts.
