Racist 'Witch Doctor' Obama T-Shirt a Hit at Tea Party Convention

A T-shirt featuring President Obama dressed as a witch doctor, with a bone through his nose, has become a hit at the South Carolina Tea Party Convention in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The T-shirt claims that Obama-the-medicine-man is “your new doctor, coming soon to a clinic near you!” reports the Palmetto Public Record.

The T-shirt’s creator Bob Cramer told the Palmetto Public Record that the shirt is supposed to be a comment about President Obama’s “takeover of medicine” through the Affordable Care Act, but Cramer did not explain how the Affordable Care Act actually took over medical care.

Cramer said: “Some people tell me it’s racist, but it’s not racist, it’s political. Matter of fact, that’s how I got invited here.”

Because of the popularity of the racially-charged shirt, Cramer is considering bringing order forms to the convention on its second day.

Cramer also makes window decals of the image using President Obama’s face, which he already sells for eight dollars each. His first 100 window decals were gone in a couple months.

Cramer added: “I’ve had people chase me down at gas stations asking me where they can buy one, and give me thumbs up on the highway. Nobody’s tried to mess with my truck, even when I’ve been in black neighborhoods and other places.”

Cramer was not an official vendor at the tea party convention, but rather an attendee.

Last week, a taco restaurant in Columbia, South Carolina came under fire for its T-shirt showing a wooden box trap with tacos as bait, with the caption: “How To Catch An Illegal Immigrant."
