The limo waiting to pick up President Barack Obama had a minor malfunction on Wednesday after the driver refueled it with regular gasoline instead of diesel fuel.

“We experienced mechanical trouble with one of the cars,” Edwin Donovan, spokesman for the Secret Service said.

He could not confirm the mechanical trouble was a result of the wrong fuel being put in the vehicle.

The limo had to be towed in Jerusalem at 10 a.m. after it failed to start. A second presidential limo was brought to transport Obama, who landed in Tel Aviv around noon and was not in the country when the first limo was towed.

“That’s why we bring different multiple vehicles,” Donovan said.

The presidential limo, known as the “Beast,” is a specially built Cadillac estimated to weigh 8 tons. Multiple identical copies are used to transport Obama around Washington and on his trips out of town, and reportedly feature inches of armor and bulletproof glass, doors and windows that seal shut in case of a gas attack and special shocks to absorb blasts.
