Politician Marine Le Pen Approached By Topless Feminist Group Activists (Video)

Two topless Femen activists got up close to Marine Le Pen, the leader of France’s far-right party, when the politician was making a visit to the town of Fougères in Brittany. The incident, which was caught on video (below), took place on Saturday.

RFI reports that Le Pen, who was in the town to meet with local members of the Front National party, was greeting local residents when the two protesters surged forwards from the crowd, removed their tops and shouted "Marine repent!" That same slogan was also written across the activists’ bodies.

The activists then switched to a chant of “Sextremism, not fascism,” as they were pulled away by Le Pen’s security team, according to The Raw Story.

Femen then took to Twitter to continue to voice their displeasure with the far-right leader.

“Stop the xenophobia, the homophobia and the hatred,” one tweet reportedly read.

The protest by the trademark topless group comes at a time when the Front National is seeing a surge in support - with 24 percent of French citizens saying they will vote for Le Pen's party in next year's European elections according to a recent poll. That puts the far right party ahead of France's traditional two mainstream parties.

Earlier this year, International Business Times reported that Le Pen could face charges for inciting racial hatred after EU authorities revoked her immunity from prosecution. At a rally in 2010, the leader of the French National Front compared the sight of Muslims praying in the street to the sight of occupying Nazi soldiers.
