The Obama daughters caught some people's attention for how they appeared when they walked off of Air Force One, after returning from a vacation.
Malia and Sasha Obama were seen looking somber and quiet as they disembarked upon landing in Maryland following their 16-day vacation in Hawaii.
Their lack of enthusiasm, or apparent sadness, could stem from the fact that this was likely the last time they would ride their father's presidential plane, and the last time they would be arriving home as the First Family.
The family's two-week vacation included a luau at the home of one of President Barack Obama's childhood friends, dinners at fancy restaurants, and family snorkeling trips, the Daily Mail reported.
It wasn't just fun and relaxation, however. Obama was briefed on New Year's Eve regarding the terrorist attack in Istanbul, Turkey, and even imposed sanctions on Russia for its alleged cyberattack regarding the election of Donald Trump.
The President is set to make a farewell speech from his hometown of Chicago prior to the inauguration of President-elect Trump. The speech, Obama said in an email, would be a chance for him to "say thank you for this amazing journey, to celebrate the ways you’ve changed this country for the better these past eight years, and to offer some thoughts on where we all go from here."
