Obama's Tea Partier Cousin, Milton Wolf, To Run for Senate?

President Barack Obama’s second cousin is running for a United States Senate seat with one goal in mind: to stop his family from “turning America into a second-rate, European-style social welfare state.”

Milton Wolf, whose mother's cousin was also Obama's grandmother, is a Kansas radiologist who writes columns for The Washington Times and produced videos for The Daily Caller last year, both staunchly conservative media outlets known for their ruthless criticism of the president and the Democratic Party. He is gauging support among conservative leaders for a primary challenge to Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kansas), who isn’t exactly a moderate himself

“The current Republican establishment has become a mere speed bump on the Democrats' road to a government-run social-welfare state,” Wolf wrote in a recent column. “As President Reagan described the Republicans in Congress in his time, and it's equally true today, ‘We had rabbits when we needed tigers.’”

Wolf accused Roberts of raising the debt ceiling, bailing out Wall Street and supporting earmarks in budgets. He added that Roberts said “recently that he does not see a way out of using military force in Syria and endorsed former Kansas Democratic Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to be secretary of Health and Human Services,” according to Politico.

“If you’ve ever asked yourself what you can do and you’re ready to fight for America … email me,” he wrote in his email. “It’s time for the patriots to save America from our failed political class.”

However, Sen. Roberts voted against the confirmation of CIA Director John Brennan and Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel. He also opposed raising the debt ceiling at Obama's request, cast a vote against the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) in 2009, and against a comprehensive immigration reform proposal this year. And abortion-rights and gun-control groups give him a zero percent rating, meaning he’s staunchly pro-life and pro-firearms.
