Obama to Blacks: "Stop Complaining. We Have Work to Do"

President Obama has a message to the black population of America: "Stop complaining."

Speaking at the annual awards dinner for the Congressional Black Caucus, Obama addressed criticism from black leaders that he is not doing enough to help blacks get jobs -- unemployment among blacks is 16.7%, nearly double the rest of the nation.

"It gets folks discouraged. I know. I listen to some of y'all," Obama the 3,000 people in the audience. "Take off your bedroom slippers. Put on your marching shoes. Shake it off. Stop complaining. Stop grumbling. Stop crying. We are going to press on. We have work to do."
