NRA Compares House Democrats To Terrorists (Video)

A National Rifle Association (NRA) radio host compared House Democrats involved in a peaceful sit-in to "criminals and terrorists" on June 22 (video below).

Cam Edwards said on "Cam & Company" that Democrats were breaking the House rules by live streaming their protest on cell phones after Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan turned the C-SPAN cameras off, notes

"So in order to push legislation that the sponsors say would not have prevented the attacks in Orlando, Florida, they’re also going to flout the House rules," Edwards said. "Kind of like, you know, criminals and terrorists flout the rules that we have in place right now and will continue to do so?"

The June 22-23 sit-in of 170 lawmakers, led by Democratic Rep. John Lewis of Georgia, called for Ryan to allow a vote on legislation that would expand gun background checks and ban those on the no-fly watch list from purchasing firearms, notes CNN.

Lewis marched with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., was chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, and helped organized numerous sit-ins during the 1960s Civil Rights movement.

During another part of the same program, Edwards spoke about the Civil Rights movement and then asserted that Democrats were trying to destroy the Bill of Rights, reports

These are House Democrats demanding the authority and the power to ignore the Fifth Amendment when they see fit, to view the Bill of Rights as an impediment to lawmakers, to treat it as such and to try to degrade. Kind of like what they say with ISIS right? Degrade and destroy.

We’re kind of witnessing the degradation and the destruction of the Bill of Rights right now. Where again you’ve got self-professed thought leaders who say it’s time to repeal the Second Amendment, the Constitution itself is outdated, and then you've got lawmakers who just want to ignore the Bill of Rights.
