New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (R) reportedly rewarded 20 mayors, who endorsed his re-election in 2013, with pieces of steel from the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
The New York Times reports that a state investigation into the closing of the George Washington Bridge in 2013 has revealed that pro-Christie mayors also got an intimate tour of the National 9/11 Memorial, New Jersey Port Authority money for jobs programs and new firefighting equipment.
NJSpotlight.com noted that a state oversight committee found that Gov. Christie diverted more than $25 million in Hurricane Sandy funds to cities with no hurricane damage, but were planned for development by Gov. Christie's allies.
Gov. Christie's former deputy chief of staff Bridget Anne Kelly refused today to turn over documents in response to subpoenas, which she is fighting, reports USA Today.
