Muslim Man Gets 9/11 Drawing on Takeout Food Container

A Muslim man who ordered a takeout burger from a bar in Houston on the tenth anniversary of 9/11 was shocked at what was doodled onto the container -- "Happy September 11th," with a plane about to hit the towers.

The Daily Mail reports that Tarek Ghalayani was stunned when he saw it and demanded a refund. The manager of the Petrol Station gave him one, without an explanation or apology.

"It's a sad day in this country's history, where we lost 3,000 innocent lives and I don't ever think there's ever going to be a time when that's okay," Ghalayani told local TV station ABC 13.

He said he also heard someone behind the bar joking around by saying "Allahu Akbar," Arabic for "God is Great," which is what some of the hijackers said.

Ghalayani took to the review site Yelp to complain, writing:

Within earshot, [the bartender] called my friend and I "a**holes" for complaining about what he clearly thought was funny.' Go there if you want a good burger - but know that you're dealing with people who have no regard for you or what it means to be in this country. Some things are still sacred - and making light of the day that 3,000 innocent people lost their lives and being unapologetic about it is, in my view, a bit much.

Bar owner Ben Fullelove, who was not in the bar at the time, said once he found at what happened, he immediately fired the bartender responsible for the drawing. He tweeted:

I am really sorry. Please don't let this idiot be a reflection of Petrol.

Fullelove later met with Ghalayani to discuss the matter. Ghalayani went back on Yelp to say it was a "good conversation" and that Fullelove "sounded sincere."
