Mom Of Murdered Border Patrol Agent Promises Revenge

The mother of a slain border patrol agent is vowing to do whatever it takes to make sure that her son’s undocumented immigrant killers are dead.

As previously reported by Opposing Views, Border Patrol Agent Javier Vega was gunned down while on a family fishing trip. Reports say that Marie Vega, the agent’s mother, along with his father, wife and children, watched as two undocumented immigrants ambushed the family and killed her son.

The two undocumented immigrants, who have reportedly been deported a total of six times between them, were able to ambush the off duty agent and his family in an attempt to rob them. When Vega and his father bravely tried to fight them off, the agent was fatally shot in the chest. His father was shot in the hip and is reportedly in the hospital recovering.

Now, Marie Vega is vowing to make sure that 30-year-old Gustavo Tijernia and 40-year-old Ismael Hernandez, who were eventually arrested following a massive manhunt, are put to death.

“My sweet sweet baby,” Marie Vega wrote on her Facebook page. “I failed you oh sweet child of mine. I was supposed to protect you and keep you safe. I failed to save your life. I wish a million times I had died and not you. You are my life, my heart was ripped out when I lost you. I will not rest until these worthless pieces of s*** are dead.”

The Border Patrol’s Chief Patrol Agent Kevin Oaks released a statement in which he expressed the sadness that the entire agency is feeling.

“Words cannot express our sorrow for the loss of our brother, when we lose one of our own, it feels as if we've lost a beloved member of our own family,” said Oaks. “I wish to express to his family and friends my deepest condolences. May the peace that comes from the memories of the time you shared together, comfort you now and in the difficult days ahead.”
