Montana Candidate For U.S. Congress Supports Obama Impeachment

Ryan Zinke is running for Montana’s lone seat in the U.S. House of Representatives that is up for grabs during this election cycle. According to the Huffington Post, Zinke is a 23-year veteran of the U.S. Navy and a former SEAL Team Six commander, as well as a former Montana State Senator. His platform is based on cutting government regulation to control spending, finding an alternative to Obamacare in order to lower health care costs, protecting the second amendment and, according to his site, “promoting conservative family values.”

In a recent GOP primary debate, Zinke also stated that Obama should be impeached for the 2012 attack in Benghazi, Libya.

In terms of the attack, Zinke had the following to say: “Benghazi was ugly on three sides. One is that it never should have happened, because it was gross negligence and no one was fired. Secondly, the reason why Ty and Glenn died is because for seven hours, they asked for help and our country gave them nothing. For seven hours, our country gave them nothing. And last: a lie. It wasn’t about a video. And so, who did construct the story? Who told Susan Rice to go around and lie to Americans in place of Secretary Hillary? Who did? And I would like to know."

He then stated that this midterm election cycle offers the Republican party its best chance of impeaching the current president.

“And then I do believe we can put the president on the run. He’s had six years of doing his will to this country, and I believe that’s intentional dismantling of American power both domestically and abroad. So is impeachment in the cards? Let’s hope we have the votes.”

Although Zinke expressed being displeased with Obama, at first he did not directly answer the question as to whether or not the POTUS should be impeached. When the moderator pressed further, prompting Zinke to give a yes or no answer, he replied, “yes.”

The House seat in Montana is currently available because incumbent Congressman Steve Daines is running for election in the U.S. Senate. There are five candidates running in the Republican primary, two in the Democratic primary, and one on the Libertarian ticket.
