Minnesota State Rep. Peggy Scott Cries Over Pro-Gay Marriage Vote

The Minnesota House of Representatives recently voted to legalize gay marriage, which apparently caused State Rep. Peggy Scott to cry.

According to theMinneapolis Star Tribune, Scott wiped away tears after the historic vote, which would say that marriage is a "civil contract between two persons."

“It’s a divisive issue that divides our state,” said Scott. “It’s not what we needed to be doing at this time. We want to come together for the state of Minnesota, we don’t want to divide it.”

There may be more tears coming from Scott when the Democratically-controlled Minnesota Senate votes on gay marriage next on Monday. The bill is likely to pass and is expected to be signed by Democratic Governor Mark Dayton, reports

Not everyone is crying though.

“Justice is knocking,” said State Rep. Carlos Mariani. “How often does justice come knocking? Until we open the door.”

However, Rep. Glenn Gruenhagen believes if gay marriage becomes law in the state, then schools will be forced to teach students about homosexuality and will normalize what he says is deviant behavior.
