"Morning Joe" co-hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough and said on Aug. 1 President Donald Trump needs to fire his family.

"It's time for Donald Trump's family members to get out of the way and let professionals run the White House," Brzezinski wrote on Twitter. "Actually, it is way past time."

Scarborough echoed similar sentiments.

"Family members who want Donald Trump to succeed need to let his Chief of Staff do his job," he tweeted. "They need to get out of the way."

Both were likely referring to Mr. Trump's daughter, Ivanka Trump, and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who are both senior advisers.

Many agreed with Brzezinski.

"Mika, that is an understatement," tweeted one user in response. "Way way past time. Unqualified family should never have been there in the first place. Idiots all of them."

"I think Ivanka and Jared really need to get out of the white house," wrote one reader on The Hill's site. "[The] nepotism ... is a total distraction and it's pretty clear they aren't really getting anything done that anyone else with actual experience couldn't."

Others went a step further, arguing the president should also leave.

"That includes Donald," wrote a third. "If all the Trumps get out of the way, the White House will be much better off."

Some, however, disagreed with the hosts.

"Family members aren't the problem," tweeted one user. "It's the anti-govt, Obama-hating, I'm the greatest megalomania that's the problem."

Some also called the "Morning Joe" hosts hypocritical.

"Wait you said the earlier part of the year that Jared was smart and Ivanka was great influence on dad," chimed in one reader. "Now you say they are incompetent."

"We had an unqualified Community Organizer the last 8 years..that was okay?" quipped another. "Hopefully the truth will come out about all the corruption."

Other seemed to be offended, criticizing the hosts themselves in response.

"Why is anything Joe and Mika says worth publishing?" asked one individual. "They are liberal blowhards that just spout the anti Trump agenda of MSNBC. Just a few months ago they were kissing a** down at Mar a Lago."

Brzezinski and Scarborough's comments come after the new White House chief of staff, John Kelly, fired communications director Anthony Scaramucci.

Scaramucci had attacked Reince Priebus and Steve Bannon in an interview with The New Yorker, using vulgar language that quickly drew controversy.

He had only taken office two weeks prior before Kelly kicked him out on July 31.
