Lawmakers Broil in Heat of Summer Health Care Debate

Lawmakers leaving Washington for their home districts in search of a summer recess have instead found themselves embroiled in a highly contentious and sometimes even combative public debate over President Obama's proposed health care reform. Across the nation Democratic lawmakers have watched their usually mundane town meetings turn into battlegrounds for the future of health care in America, with protesters sometimes becoming so loud they've effectively shut down the meetings.
