Joy Behar sparked controversy after she said President Donald Trump doesn't care about his grandchildren (video below).
ABC's "The View" co-host was talking about climate change with Democratic Sen. Al Franken of Minnesota when she made the controversial remarks, reports Grabien.
Franken said he didn't want his future grandchildren to wonder why he didn't do anything when Behar responded, "President Trump has grandchildren also. It amazes me that he is not concerned about his grandchildren. What does that say about him? But we have to go."
Her comments upset many on social media who argued Behar did not truly care for Trump's grandchildren, but was instead using them to simply bash Trump again.
"On October 10, 2016, Behar referred to Bill Clinton's sexual assault accusers as 'tramps,'" commented one Breitbart reader. "Behar isn't worried about the women Bill raped or his grandchildren knowing the kind of person Bill Clinton turned out to be. Time to ignore her."
"Joy Behar never had a sane phrase pass her lips since someone thought it would be a good idea to put her insanity on display to the country," chimed in a second. "She care nothing about anyone's grandchildren and only wants to make them subject to her hateful view of America."
Others defended Trump by pointing out ways in which he has taken care of his children.
"Here is a guy rich enough to buy an island/or islands and spend his life like Clinton BFF Epstein poking under-aged girls (and prob. boys) and rich enough to dump any and all wives and other liaisons and never see a child from one year to the next but he is surrounded by his children," added another. "They are his business partners, his companions, his advisers, and he is even supported by his ex-wives (something nearly unheard of) and what can the vapid and airless 'View' come up with, degradation aimed at YOUNG CHILDREN, even grandchildren? How the left stands its own stink is hard to fathom."
Trump currently has five grandchildren and he will soon have a sixth, reports AOL News. His son, Eric Trump, and Eric's wife, Lara Trump, announced they were pregnant with their first child in March.
The couple had kept the news secret for a few months before telling the media.
"Eric's dad was so excited," Lara said. "We were worried he'd blurt it out at a press conference."
