Burlington is the latest clothing retailer to dump Ivanka Trump's clothing line following a major controversy surrounding Nordstrom's similar decision.
The company, formerly known as Burlington Coat Factory, reportedly dropped all 13 Ivanka Trump-brand items from their website, though it's not clear if the her clothing line is still in stores.
Shannon Coulter, the co-founder of the Grab Your Wallet anti-Trump group, tweeted a screenshot of Burlington's website showing zero search listings found for Trump's products.
"At last check on 2/7 there were were 13. Right now there are zero," Coulter tweeted.
The decision came following a similar one on the part of Nordstrom, which prompted a significant deal of criticism from Trump's father, President Donald Trump, and his White House spokespersons.
"We believe that the strength of a brand is measured not only by the profits it generates, but the integrity it maintains," Rosmary Young, Ivanka's senior marketing director, told Business Insider. "The women behind the brand represent a diverse group of professionals and we are proud to say that the Ivanka Trump brand continues to embody the principles upon which it was founded."
The decision by Nordstrom was the subject of a tweet from the president and a statement by his representative, Kellyanne Conway, on TV saying that people should buy her brand.
"My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom. She is a great person -- always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!" Donald tweeted, the Daily Mail reported.
Many readers felt as though Ivanka should launch her own store instead of going through retailers like Burlington.
"This is beginning to sound like Ivanka should open up her own retail website for her fashions and cut out the middle man. These companies are just cutting off their nose to spite their face and will lose in the end with less revenues. Same can be said for all of Trump's line as well. I bet they make more money too," one Daily Mail reader commented.
Others felt the news was a distraction from bigger issues at hand.
"Why are we worried about who is selling Ivanka's clothes when there is a Russian spy ship off the coast of Delaware!!! There are much bigger problems," one reader expressed.
