Iowa State Senator (R) Joni Ernst is running for the U.S. Senate partly-based on her experience of castrating hogs and making them squeal.
"I'm Joni Ernst. I grew up castrating hogs on an Iowa farm so when I get to Washington, I'll know how to cut pork," said Ernst in her new TV ad, noted TalkingPointsMemo.com (video below).
"My parents taught parents taught us to live within our means." stated Ernst. "It's time to force Washington to do the same, to cut wasteful spending, repeal Obamacare, and balance the budget."
"I'm Joni Ernst and I approve this message because Washington's full of big spenders. Let's make 'em squeal," added Ernst.
However, according to a 2013 report by the Center for American Progress, Obamacare is expected to save the federal government about $190 billion over the next ten years.
According to TheIowaRepublican.com, Ernst voted against expanding Medicaid in Iowa, which would have given 150,000 uninsured Iowans immediate health care coverage.
