Before President Obama delivered his jobs speech to Congress last night, House Speaker John Boehner was caught bragging on a live mike to Vice President Biden about his golf game.
Boehner began boasting the moment Biden joined him in the seats behind the lectern where Obama spoke from: “I was playing golf in August. Seven birdies, five bogies. I shoot two under. So, we have lunch, sitting around for about an hour and and I thought, ‘Why don’t we play nine more holes?’”
Boehner bragged about playing at the famed windswept Sand Hills Golf Club in Mullen, Nebraska, which is ranked among the Top 100 courses in the world: “Oh, so the next day, I go to Sandhills, I shoot a 86. One day I play great, the next day I play awful. But this is the round of the decade. I haven’t done this for 12 years. I shot a 67 one time."
However, Boehner dropped the golf talk when an aide announced, "The mikes are live."
Ironically, President Obama caught heat from some Republicans, around the time Boehner was tearing up the links in Nebraska, when he played a few rounds while vacationing on Martha's Vineyard.
