Hugo Chavez Gets Hero's Welcome at Venice Film Festival


Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez walked the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival with director Oliver Stone for the premiere of a documentary about the controversial South American leader.

Stone says he made the film in part because the U.S. media has demonized Chavez, and he wanted to show a more balanced picture of him. Chavez, of course, famously called then-President Bush "the devil" during a speech at the United Nations in 2006. More from the Associated Press:
