Fox News reporter Jesse Watters, of "The O’Reilly Factor," recently tried to ambush Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont who has turned down the show's requests for interviews lately (video below).
“OK, I don’t do ambush interviews, if you want to talk to us, there’s my press secretary,” Sanders informed Watters, reports Mediaite.
“Well, I do do ambush interviews and I just had a question for you,” Watters fired back.
“Don’t push me, no, I didn’t get rough, you pushed me," the 74-year-old presidential candidate told Watters, notes RawStory.
“Now, Bill is upset because you haven't done the show," Watters stated. "And we feel like you used to be a friend of the show. You’re not so big-time now that you’re gonna forget about your friends, right?”
Watters asked Sanders if he was afraid of Hillary Clinton, and if he planned, as president, to seize O’Reilly’s house.
O'Reilly and Watters had a good laugh over the incident, and O'Reilly added, “But you know why he’s not coming on? Because he knows that some of his base doesn’t like us, so now he’s being a politician.”
