Paul Vallely, a retired US Army Major General and former military analyst for Fox News, recently suggested that President Obama should be placed under citizen’s arrest.
"I would even legislate to get a national recall going," Vallely told the conspiracy website WorldNet Daily (audio below).
After mentioning impeachment, Vallely added: "So I think these are things we to talk about, discuss, get off our derrieres. If we’ve got to march in the state capitals, if we’ve got to march in Washington with one hundred million people, then that’s what we need to do.
According to RightWingWatch.org, Vallely also suggested making a citizen's arrest against President Obama and administration officials.
“I would say if we can make citizens’ arrest," stated Vallely. "I challenge our government that if we have people that are conducting treason against the United States and the best interests of our country, violating the Constitution, violating our laws, just as they are doing with these excessive executive orders that are coming out of the White House where you have a President and his team that doesn’t care about the Constitution.”
However, there is no law against "excessive executive orders." Vallely seemed to be repeating a false claim about President Obama issuing a huge number of executive orders, which has been debunked by Snopes.com.
Vallely did, however, echo the right wing's rallying call against the legally and democratically-elected Obama: "So we have options out there and we have to pursue all of those options to take the country back."
