Former NY Gov. George Pataki Considering Presidential Run

Former New York Gov. George Pataki  said he is considering entering the crowded field of candidates seeking the Republican nomination for president.

“I’m definitely considering a run for president,” Pataki told reporters in New Hampshire on Thursday.

Pataki was in New Hampshire to lead a discussion on the debt crisis at a local college. He later told reporters that the current candidates are not doing enough to address the issue.

"A Republican has to make as part of their campaign how they're going deal with the deficit and debt issue," he told NBC. “We have to have solutions. So far, I haven't heard that. I'm certainly looking to see if someone has that plan in the tone of their campaign."

Pataki has been hinting at a possible run for a couple of months now. He said there is no timetable for his decision, but he knows he’ll have to decide reasonably soon. "I don’t want to put a specific date on it, but I understand that sooner is better than not.”
