President Obama issued an executive order last week that will allow 4 to 5 million undocumented immigrants, who have lived in the United States for at least five years, to apply for a program that allows them to legally work in the U.S. without deportation threats.
The executive order also says that immigrants of any age can apply for the "Dreamers" program, which allows children of undocumented immigrants to stay in the U.S.
A new poll shows that 67 percent of Americans support President Obama's executive order, noted Bloomberg News.
However, Republicans warned that mass violence and a constitutional crisis would happen because of the executive order last week.
Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh reportedly wrote on his Facebook page:
Imagine what would happen if just for a week, Obama worked as hard for Americans as he does for illegal aliens. Just imagine if he cared as much about the unemployed, taxpaying citizen of this nation who cannot get health care as he cares about those who are not citizens.
According to Mother Jones, thousands of conservatives "Liked" the post, including Donald Baldwin, Waterford, New York, Fire Department Chief, who wrote this comment:
He is a TRAITOR and should be shot.
However, Baldwin's alleged comment was met with a suggestion by another poster that the Secret Service should be notified.
Baldwin was asked by Mother Jones if he feels President Obama is a traitor and should be shot.
"Anyone who goes against or wants to override the Constitution of our country is in my eyes a traitor," stated Baldwin.
