Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump recently praised the Bible, and quoted a verse from the Book of Proverbs that doesn't exist (video below).
During an interview with CBN inside the clubhouse at the Trump National Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, Trump stated:
Well, there's so many things, like you know you take whatever you want to say. There's so many things that you can learn from it (The Bible). Proverbs, the chapter "never bend to envy." I've had that thing all of my life where people are bending to envy.
And they're just, actually it's an incredible book, so many things you can learn from the Bible and you can lead your life. And I'm not just talking in terms of religion, I'm talking in terms of leading a life even beyond religion. There are so many brilliant things in the Bible.
However, there is no verse that says, "Never bend to envy," reports CNN.
Trump's campaign later told CBN that Trump was referring to Proverbs 24:1-2: “Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them. For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.”
