Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump hit back at Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida for making fun of his "small hands" during the GOP debate on Fox News March 3 (video below).
Rubio said during a rally in Virginia on Feb. 29: "You know what they say about guys with small hands, you can't trust them!" notes Talking Points Memo.
During the debate, Trump countered:
He hit my hands. Nobody has ever hit my hands. I have never heard of this. Look at those hands. Are they small hands? And he referred to my hands if they are small, something else must be small. I guarantee you there is no problem. I guarantee you.
After the debate concluded, CNN reporter Dana Bash asked Trump about his joke, notes Mediate.com.
“I can’t believe I’m going to ask you this question, but do you realize you’re probably the first person in American history, maybe even world history, to make a joke about your you-know-what on a debate stage?” Bash stated.
No, I only made a joke about my hands, I have very powerful hands... Look at these hands! Aren't they beautiful? I have very powerful hands, and large hands, relatively large hands, and a politician said I didn't have large hands, that's the first time anyone has ever said that one. So, no, I think it was a very good moment.
Bash then asked Trump's wife Melania for a comment and she replied, "It's a great moment, OK?" and laughed.
During another post debate interview, Fox News host Bill O'Reilly asked Trump why so many Republicans, such as Mitt Romney, don't like him, Mediaite.com reports.
Trump said that he had the support of 65 percent of the Republican Party, and that millions of people were joining the GOP.
"I tell it like it is, I tell the truth," Trump insisted. "Our country needs that."
Trump called Romney a "phony" who "made a fool out of himself," and a "choke artist" who lost the presidency twice and lost the Senate.
