Congresswoman's Remarkably Bad Parking Job Goes Viral (Video)

Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton's embarrassing attempt at a parking job was caught on video (below) and has since become an Internet sensation.

Norton was spotted attempting to park her van between two correctly parked vehicles. The two men who witnessed the incident began filming to document the absurd parking job. One of the witnesses summarized what had gone on up to the start of the video, adding that Norton “hit the car next to her and did not leave a note, though I couldn’t see any damage.” The cameraman said Norton hit car “repeatedly.”

“If she parks like that she should not be a member of Congress anymore,” one of the witnesses said from behind the camera.

Norton allegedly exited her vehicle after parking it incorrectly, walked away and came back a moment later to retrieve something before making her way to the House Chamber for a joint address by the president of Afghanistan.

The video quickly went viral, with Twitter users weighing in on Norton’s botched parking job.

A Norton aide later released a statement stating they found no damage to the cars parked beside hers.

“After the Congresswoman parked her car, we assessed the cars on either side to see if there was any damage,” the aide said. “We could not find any, but we left a note with a business card so the congresswoman could be contacted in case we missed any.”
