'Canada is Not Really Foreign Soil' Says Sen. Ted Cruz Supporter (Video)

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, was born in Calgary, Canada, in 1970 and moved with his family to Houston when he was 4 years old.

However, Tea Party Republicans, who have long-claimed that President Barack Obama was born in Kenya, do not have any issues with Cruz as a possible presidential candidate.

During a Tea Party rally this week in Austin, Cruz supporter Christina Katok told The Texas Tribune: “As far as I’m concerned, Canada is not really foreign soil" (video below).

She laughed after making the statement, but then added: "That's the way I look at it."

However, she still questions if Obama is a “natural-born citizen” as required by the U.S. Constitution to run for president, even though he was born in Hawaii.

Cruz recently released his Canadian birth certificate to The Dallas Morning News, proving that he was born Canada but has an American mother, just as Obama had.

Tea Party Republicans have not accused Cruz of photoshopping a fake birth certificate as they have done with Obama for years.
