Bradley Patterson, College Football Player, Kicked off Team for Racist Tweet About Obama

Bradley Patterson, a University of North Alabama football player, posted a racist tweet about President Obama on Sunday in response to NBC pre-empting the 49ers-Patriots game to show Obama speaking in Newtown, Connecticut for the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

Patterson, who uses the handle '2A_HogOfTheYear,' tweeted: "Take that (N-word) off the tv, we wanna watch football!"

Although the tweet was deleted shortly after it was posted, news of its posting quickly came to the attention of  University of North Alabama athletic director Mark Linder, who announced Sunday night that Patterson had been kicked off the team, reports

Patterson was a walk-on who joined the University of North Alabama team in the fourth week of the season.
