Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger admits to having multiple affairs, but says he still wants to save his marriage to Maria Shriver in his autobiography 'Total Recall.'
Schwarzenegger writes: "The divorce is going forward, but I still have the hope that Maria and I can come back together as husband and wife and as a family with our children."
"You can call this denial, but it’s the way my mind works… I’m still in love with Maria. And I am an optimist. All my life I have focused on the positives. I am optimistic that we will come together again."
Shriver filed for divorce in July last year citing “irreconcilable differences” after Schwarzenegger admitted in May 2011 that he had fathered a child with the family’s maid, Mildred Baena, reports RawStory.com.
In the book Schwarzenegger also writes about a “hot affair” with actress Brigitte Nielsen while doing the 1985 film 'Red Sonja.'
In a recent '60 Minutes' interview, he admitted: "I had others. But that’s something that’s between Maria and me."
Allegations of sexual misconduct and affairs have long been reported about Schwarzenegger, but Shriver has always claimed they were untrue.
