Ann Coulter doubled down on her criticism of Michelle Obama's participation in the #BringBackOurGirls social media campaign, telling Fox News the first lady's next hashtag should be “I’m married to an idiot.”
“Look we all want the girls back,” said host Sean Hannity. “Everybody wants the girls back.”
“It’s utterly pathetic and embarrassing,” Coulter said of the hashtag. “I mean, this guy Obama has done to America in eight years what it took 100 years to do to the British empire. We are retreating all over the world. China’s about to take total hegemony of the Pacific rim.”
“We’ve lost our power throughout the world,” she said. “And these idiots think hashtag is some major policy initiative. How about Michelle Obama have #ImMarriedToAnIdiot?”
“Oh boy, you just made your headline," Hannity said. "But seriously what should the U.S. role, if any, be?”
Hannity noted that U.S. military spy planes are flying over in Nigeria looking for the nearly 300 school girls taken hostage by the Boko Haram.
“Let’s say we find them. I have no confidence in Nigerian special forces if they even exist,” Hannity said. “The only people who would have a chance of getting them out under the guise of secrecy and surprise would the U.S. military or the Israeli’s. Period.”
“It’s kind of a pathetic gesture when we can’t even protect our own ambassador,” Coulter said, referring to Benghazi.
Coulter posted a parody of Michelle Obama’s photograph holding a #BringBackOurGirls sign, that read #BringBackOurCountry.
That stunt backfired on Twitter, when users photoshopped Coulter’s photo so the sign she was holding would say things like: “Please pay attention to me”; “#BringBackMySoul”; “Bring Back Traditional White America”; “I’m on Christian Mingle! User Name: RWNJ1958”; and “I’m a miserable person who peddles hate to make money off dumb Republicans.” The following is from @therightswrong:
