The Sasquatch Genome Project has spent half a million dollars collecting data and evidence on the existence of Bigfoot for the past five years.
During a press conference in Dallas, Texas on Tuesday, a team of researchers played several short clips (video below) of what they claim is Bigfoot.
"This was a serious study," Dr. Melba Ketchum told WFAA. Dr. Ketchum is an expert in forensics and is the director of the Sasquatch Genome Project.
The videos include various fuzzy, grainy and long shots of a hairy creature walking on two legs in the woods in Kentucky.
However, one clip from 2005 appears to be a close-up of a Sasquatch sleeping, notes the Daily Mail.
The video clips came from "The Erickson Project," another Bigfoot group led by Adrian Erickson. The Erickson group claims it has "definitive video and DNA evidence from the elusive Sasquatch."
"Researcher Dennis Pfohl... personally captured video and collected DNA samples from Sasquatch individuals," added the Erickson group.
The press conference comes a week after a new map was unveiled by researcher Josh Stevens, which shows 3,313 possible Bigfoot sightings since 1921.
Stevens writes on his website: "There are distinct regions where sightings are incredibly common, despite a very sparse population. On the other hand, in some of the most densely populated areas Sasquatch sightings are exceedingly rare."
