Protesters who have been camped out in a park, Duncan Plaza, across from City Hall in New Orleans, Louisiana, say that police have been handing out flyers informing them that they are no longer permitted to stay in the park overnight. Mayor Mitch Landrieu said Friday that it's time for the protesters to end the round-the-clock occupation.
As of Monday, dozens of tents were still in place at the Occupy New Orleans encampment at Duncan Plaza and it was unclear whether any attempt to remove them was imminent. Occupy New Orleans protesters have been at Duncan Plaza, since Oct. 6.
Last week Occupy protesters in Los Angeles and Philadelphia were removed, largely without violent incident.
