In a startling new video illustrating Islamic State group's nature, the terrorist group now uses children to conduct executions of its prisoners.
In a horrific video released in January, a boy appeared to shoot two prisoners with a handgun. According to ABC News, the prisoners were two alleged “Russian spies” and were executed by a boy who seems to be under the age of 11.
Alongside the child in the video is the infamous Islamic State cell member, Abu Saad al-Dagestani, who may have been killed, according to tweets from accounts linked to Islamic State group on Jan. 15. He was said to have been “martyred” near the Kurdish town of Kobani, also known as Ayn Arab, on Syria’s border with Turkey.
The video shows the boy standing next to al-Dagestani. In front of them are the two “spies,” kneeling.
The nearly eight-minute video begins with the men being interviewed, later admitting to have spied on Islamic State group on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin and their country, Russia.
They tell the camera their names are Mamayev Jambulat Yesenajovich and Ashimov Sergey Nikolayavich.
It appears the boy then proceeds to shoot the men in the backs of their heads, after which he raises his arms and cheers.
Though the footage is jarring, lack of visible injuries or blood on the executed men may indicate Islamic State group staged the execution.
According to Daily Mail, al-Dagestani tells the camera, “Allah has gifted the Islamic State with these two spies.”
“By Allah’s grace, they are now in the custody of the lion cubs of the Khilafah,” he says, referring to the child performing the execution.
